SAHA Has Landed: KBDcraft's Tenth Angel Turns Your Keyboard Into a Cockpit

SAHA

Every KBDcraft creation begins with an Angel.

For its tenth release, the studio turns to Sahaquiel, the Tenth Angel from Neon Genesis Evangelion, transforming its iconic three-eyed silhouette into the most ambitious keyboard KBDcraft has ever built.

Rather than simply borrowing its appearance, SAHA reinterprets Sahaquiel's unmistakable form as a modular keyboard unlike anything KBDcraft has built before. At its core is a brand-new 55% layout with 52 primary keys, flanked by two detachable controller modules in KBDcraft's signature blue-and-orange colorway. During the Kickstarter campaign, limited-edition red and green controller sets will also be available for collectors and customization enthusiasts.

Built with KBDcraft's LEGO-compatible brick construction, SAHA isn't designed to stay in a single configuration. The controllers can be detached, rearranged, and reattached in multiple ways, allowing the keyboard to transform between desktop productivity, handheld control, and dual-controller setups in seconds.

For KBDcraft, this isn't just another mechanical keyboard—it's the company's most modular design yet.

Design Inspired by the Tenth Angel

Inspired by Sahaquiel's distinctive three-eyed composition, SAHA is built around three interconnected modules. The central typing deck serves as the main keyboard, while the detachable left and right controllers can operate independently or dock seamlessly back into the main body.

Unlike conventional split keyboards that separate the typing area, SAHA keeps the main typing experience intact while making the side controllers fully detachable. It creates a modular workflow without sacrificing the familiarity of a traditional keyboard layout.

company's most modular design yet.

AI Can Think. You Can Feel.

We're entering an era where AI writes, generates, and automates almost everything. But creativity still begins with something AI doesn't have—touch.

The feeling of turning a joystick.
The click of a switch.
The satisfaction of snapping bricks together.

SAHA embraces that philosophy. Every interaction is intentionally tactile, transforming typing into something you physically shape rather than simply use.

AI can think. Only you can feel. Grab the joystick. Reclaim control.

A Love Letter to the Golden Age of Gaming

SAHA doesn't imitate a console—it captures the feeling of growing up with one. The detachable handles echo the controllers many of us grew up with, while the symmetrical layout recalls classic consoles.

The playful construction captures the feeling of opening a new toy on a Saturday morning.

90s play. 00s control.

It's nostalgia rebuilt—one brick at a time.

Beyond the Keycap

Traditional keyboards are built around keycaps. SAHA is built around bricks.

Constructed from 101 structural bricks, SAHA introduces Brick Keycaps 2.0, replacing conventional keycap geometry with a brick-built architecture that's as enjoyable to assemble as it is to type on.

Here, the building is part of the experience.

Built to Customize

Customization doesn't stop at the hardware.

Out of the box, SAHA includes three onboard profiles—Game, Work, and Vibe Coding—making it easy to switch between different workflows.

For those who want complete control, native QMK and Vial support allow every key, layer, macro, and controller input to be fully customized.

Code is bricks.

Plug. Play. Rebuild.

Despite its modular construction, SAHA keeps connectivity refreshingly simple. The detachable controllers connect through a standard 3.5 mm cable, making setup fast, reliable, and completely plug-and-play.

Instead of complicated docking systems or proprietary connectors, the design stays true to KBDcraft's philosophy:

Simple.
Physical.
Rebuildable.

Detach. Attach. Effortless.

A Keyboard Worth Displaying

When you're finished using SAHA, it doesn't disappear into a drawer. It becomes part of your desk.

The included display stand turns the keyboard into a collectible object—something halfway between a custom mechanical keyboard, a construction model, and a display-worthy collector's piece.

Because great design deserves to be seen.

Art deserves to be displayed. Beautiful in use. Stunning on the stand.

Final Thoughts

SAHA isn't trying to redefine the mechanical keyboard with faster switches or brighter RGB. Instead, it asks a more interesting question:

What if a keyboard was something you could keep rebuilding?

That's what makes SAHA different. It's a keyboard, a handheld controller, a construction kit, and a collectible—all built around the idea that creativity should be as modular as the tools we use.

Four years of brick engineering have led to this moment.

No rules. Just bricks.

Build Yours.

Every brick tells a story.
Every configuration creates a different workflow.
Every rebuild becomes part of the experience.
